Having a good healthy breakfast every morning is an important part of wellbeing. It pays off to take the time to cook and enjoy a nice bowl of porridge with some nutritious seeds, nuts and fruits even when you are in a hurry. Actually it is worth getting up a bit earlier just to have the time to enjoy the first meal of the day.
To give you some inspiration for a yummy breakfast here is a recipe for oatmeal porridge full of nutrients and tasty surprises.
Tasty Oatmeal Porridge With Fruits and Nuts For One
Ingredients:
- 100 ml rolled oats
- 300 ml water
- 1 tbs chia seeds
- Pinch of sea salt
- 3 dried pitted prunes, cut into small pieces
- Handful of frozen blueberries
Boil all these ingredients for five minutes until the oats are cooked stirring frequently. Add water if needed to have a soft and quite runny porridge. It will thicken in the bowl soon. Meanwhile prepare the following ingredients to top up your porridge:
- 2 tbs muesli or granola of choice
- Optional: 1 tbs peanut butter
- 4 walnuts cut into small crumbs
- ½-1 pear cut into small pieces
When you have cooked the oatmeal, chia, prunes and blueberries, pour it in a bowl. If you use peanut butter, mix it in at this stage. Sprinkle the muesli or granola on top of the porridge, add the walnut crumbs and finish with the pear pieces on top.
This delicious and tasty bowl of porridge will keep you nourished and full easily until lunch time!
