Clean House With Tea Tree - Melaleuca Essential Oil

Now is the time to clean the house with a very handy and versatile oil – Tea Tree oil. It is also called Melaleuca Alternifolia oil. This is a cleansing and purifying oil, that is perfect for eliminating bad odors from all nooks of the house. Even linen will get a fresh smell when they are sprayed with a mist of Tea Tree oil.

The Melaleuca Alternifolia trees are native to Australia, and their leaves have been used for centuries by the aborigines for cuts, wounds and skin infections. Tea Tree – Melaleuca essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves. Melaleuca is also a great addition to skin care because of its cleansing properties.

Tips How To Use Tea Tree – Melaleuca Essential Oil

  • Diffuse Tea Tree for a clean, fresh aroma that can help you focus and even overcome a mental block.
  • Use either undiluted or or diluted with vegetable oil on skin, blemishes.
  • Add Tea Tree oil to skin care products or moisturizer to maintain healthy looking skin.
  • Diffuse to combat unpleasant odors at home.
  • Make your own sprays to use on several areas with odor problems – laundry baskets, gym bags, shoe racks, linen drawers, storage, kitchen sink and rubbish bins, bathroom.
  • Add a couple of drops on the vacuum cleaner filter to purify the air.

Make Your Own Tea Tree Spray

  • Make your own Tea Tree Spray with a glass spray bottle: fill up with filtered water, add 6 drops of Tea Tree Oil for 100 ml water.
  • Add other essential oils for added benefits and aroma.
  • Add 4 drops of Lemon or Lemongrass to make a cleansing kitchen spray.
  • Or add 4 drops of Eucalyptus for a bathroom spray.
  • Or 4 drops of Lavender essential oil for a linen drawer spray.
  • Other oils that blend nicely with Tea Tree oil are Cypress, Thyme, Rosemary, Lemongrass and all other citrus oils.
